LinkATag is going to be officially 1 year old in about a month. To celebrate, I'm going to renew the domain for another 3 years! I'm also going to submit it to another 100 directories and I'm going to cap the # of links to 200. I don't know if I mentioned it before but the site is currently has a Page Rank of 3.

Tag link purchases have cooled quite a bit but that's okay as I have not been promoting the site as much lately. I am hoping for the next Google PR update in Jan. so I am able to fully promote the site more. Once the PR officially goes up, so do the prices.

I'm going to run a Christmas special starting today until the end of the year for 10% off each purchase! I got the site submitted to another 100 directories so hopefully that means more backlinks. Happy Holidays.

Not much happening but just wanted to update to say that I am still constantly promoting the site. I'm pretty sure based on the response so far that the prices will go up in 2007 so if you haven't gotten a tag yet, it probably won't get any cheaper after this year.

I'm pretty happy with the opening day of LINKaTAG. Even though their wasn't as many sales as I expected, there was a lot of traffic. I also bought a $47 link at KingOfTheBill.com. As of this writing, I'm still at the top spot which has helped with the traffic but not so much the sales. Good for those who have bought links, not so good for me! Tomorrow will be another day...

Welcome to the official release of LINKaTAG.com.

If you haven't done so already, check out the About page to learn about Link a Tag. This site was an idea of mine based on seeing so many similar sites out there. More specifically, directories and word cloud tagging sites. I thought it would be pretty neat to combine the two ideas into one and that's how Link a Tag came to be. But I didn't want the link clouds to be boring so I've tried to come up with different ways (Visual View and Random Previews) to express the tags and change the ways people link tags. I hope to come up with new and revolutionary ways to link tags in the future and in turn help those who buy tags on the site gain a permanent link back, a higher page rank, a great SEO keyword, and some traffic to their sites.

This weekend I added more tag customization options including background color and a line through text option. For those who bought tags earlier and want some of these options, you can add on any of these options to your existing tag by this week. Just use the Contact Form to let me know your tag, what color/options you want.

The big addition was the Random Preview beta which displays 45 random screen shots of submitted sites and displays the tag and link when the cursor is over the screen. Check it out if you get a chance at Random Previews.

To prepare for the official launch of the site next week, I got a press release made. I also used some of revenue generated from the site to get some articles written that will be submitted to over 100 article submission outlets. The directory submission process is also doing fairly well as some directories have already accepted the site. 7 more days till the launch!

Based on some feedback, the Visual View section has been updated so the tag font size and color match the the front page. Submitted to a few more directories today and also got links to the site placed on a few PR4 and PR5 sites. The site was also listed on Directory Critic. LINKaTAG works on the business model that prices/rates go up as traffic and page rank go up. So in a sense, you are paying a cheaper price now for the potential of the future. For those who already are on board, thanks a lot. For those who are still thinking of it, I can guarantee you one thing - the rates will go up once the site is official launched (Nov. 27th).

As far as marketing, I got an early start today by using some of the profits generated from the site. The site will be manually submitted to over 500 Page Rank 4 and above web directories within the next week. LINKaTAG is already indexed by Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

For those who have a vested interest in the site, I'll provide updates here. First of all, I am happy with the response so far for the site. There were some suggestions on how to make it better and many of those changes have already been made while plans are in action for others. Originally I had planned to "officially" release the site this Monday but seeing how it will be Thanksgiving week and many people will be out of town, I have decided to push it back until the following Monday. This will also give me an extra week to work on the site and formulate a plan.

For those who didn't bother to read the "About" section, I am going to invest 50% (probably closer to 100% at least initally) of the gross profit on marketing the site. Hopefully this will be a win-win for everyone who joins and adds a tag. The site has already made money so I already have some funds ready to go. I am just trying to find out what is the best place to market it. November 27th will begin the full on assault. Stay tuned...
